Your major gift or corporate sponsorship can make the “Austin Outpost” an extraordinary hub for Greater Austin’s LGBTQIA+ community, the nation’s third largest. We expect thousands of visitors to the Outpost every year, and your highly-visible sponsorship would make a strong, positive impression.
SPONSOR A WADING POOL
One idea is to place a wading pool at the center of the “Austin Outpost” pop-up LGBTQIA+ community center.
Austin is famous for its water features, like Lake Travis, Lady Bird Lake, the Greenbelt, and Barton Springs Pool. However, LGBTQIA+ people - especially our gender non-conforming siblings - do not always feel safe to enjoy this part of Austin life.
We think that a water feature at the Outpost would be a powerful draw, attracting LGBTQIA+ people to visit and enjoy hanging out at the community center, where they can be fully themselves no matter their gender expression.
community teaching kitchen
Food brings people together, no question.
We would love to include a community teaching kitchen in the “Austin Outpost.”
Members could use the kitchen to learn to cook healthier meals while building community around food preparation and enjoyment.
SOLAR ENERGY & SUSTAINABLE CONSTRUCTION
The Outpost represents Austin’s future, so it’s important that our community center showcase our sustainable destiny.
Can you help us incorporate solar panels, batteries, windows, and other green technologies and construction techniques?
Austin’s LGBTQIA+ residents are artists, designers, makers, crafters, podcasters, videographers, musicians, and performers, and many of them need free space to create.
We’d love your help to include a co-working studio space for our community’s creative class to work and play together.
The Creative Suite could also host art classes, sign-making parties, and other artistic community events.
Gyms and fitness classes don’t always feel like safe spaces for all bodies and genders. Austin’s only queer-specific exercise space, Transform Fitness, recently closed, but the need remains. Their own physical health was the #1 concern of the more than 2,250 respondents to our research study.
You can help us get LGBTQIA+ people moving with a space that can be used for aerobics, yoga, and other physical fitness classes.
help us build the qwell smartphone application
QWELL needs a smartphone application to engage and communicate with Austin’s large, diverse LGBTQIA+ population.
We need to use available technologies to scale our services. With a custom digital solution, we can give each member of our community whatever support, information, and referrals they need to improve their wellbeing.
